Worked all day to get axles off.
Big pile of Dana 44's.
Front view of my frame. I made a dolly for the frame so I can move it around the garage.
The new motor mount that I got from IHONLYNORTH.

After the city of St. George gave me my citation, I had to move Iron Wolf into the garage. My wife was not happy.
Starting to pull the Engine so I can work on the frame and get it ready for paint.
Not very much room.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 9:54 AM 0 comments

Another awesome Scout in front of the shop. Thanks for the visit. If you need some good parts this is a good place to go. www.ihonlynorth.comPosted by Iron Air Wolf at 5:29 PM 0 comments

What a pain in the ass it was to get the lower pen out.
Lower pen out. It took me about two hours to get this little guy out.
With upper and lower king pens out the knuckle came right off. The next step is to knock out the bearing retainers, get the king pen rebuild kit, clean up the knuckle, paint it, and rebuild it.
Only thing left is to get the top top king pen off. Get the other side done. Remove the gears, finish cleaning up the axle, and get some paint on it.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 4:59 PM 0 comments

Well here is the 3" nut that gave me such hardache. After going to the parts store two times to get the right axle socket; I never got the right size. The largest they had was 2 15/16 and I needed a 3". Had to use a small chizzle and lightly rap on it to get it moving in the right direction.
With the nut off and all bearing out this baby slipped right off.
One more piece and then its time for the king pen.
Start tearing down the king pen and I should have the knuckle off.
It was nice to see I had 35 spine axles. I will be using these untill I break them.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 4:28 PM 0 comments

Here we go. Starting on the right side.
Manual lockout cap removed. You can see the spring and the cam that will allow the axles to be locked or in free position.
Bolts and lockout removed. Now the snap ring needs to be removed. All spines look good so far. No marring or broken spines.
Snap ring removed and flange slides right out.
Well, no tools in my tool box to get this 2 1/2 nut off. Time to clean up and head to Sears and get a socket to fit this nut and continue the tear down. I feel this will not be the last time I have to stop due to the lack of tools. Just another reason to buy tools.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 8:44 PM 0 comments

I have to move Iron Wolf into the garage. The city of St. George said im not allowed to have an disassembled vehicle next to our house. I have like a week to put it into my garage or I get fined $25 a day. I've been spending a lot of time preping the inside so I can get some paint in there.
I found my only cancer spot. Will have to open it up get rid of the cancer and weld in some patches.
The bed is in really good condition. Just light surface rust.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will start filling up the inside with the doner parts. My flying schedule is going to be getting pretty busy in Febuary so I have to get a lot done now.
Here are my other holes. As you can see this body is in great shape.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 8:10 PM 0 comments

All the major parts that I will keep or put on E-bay.
Nothing else to take off. Put on the trailer and ready for the dump.
A sad way to end a Scout's life.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 9:04 PM 0 comments

So far so good. the rear tires just have to clear the front jack point.
The rear tires did clear the front jack point. Only by 1/2 inch. A levitating Scout body.
My little prize. A little dirty. OK, a whole lot of dirt. The power washer will have fun with this frame and engine.
Its about 7:30pm. The sun is going down and the lights are on. The frame is out, the body is floating in my driveway, I'm sore, and all is good. I have to do this one more time.Posted by Iron Air Wolf at 10:09 PM 0 comments

Tires are back on the frame. Its time to raise the body towards the heavens. I have to get it high enough to clear the rear tires.
Rear shot of the body at its hightest point. Hope its high enough. I hope the tape measure does not lie.
