Marysvile and the Paiute trail

On the 13th of September Sharon, Bandit and myself drove two hours to get to Marysvale Utah. This was our first trip to the Paiute trail. The trail consist of 1900 miles of trail. We did 115 miles in two days. The town of Marysvale sits at 5980 feet in elevation and we drove up to 102oo feet.

Chilling at the Barneys lake. This lake sits at 10050 feet.

Bandit making sure Sharon is staying on the trail and keeping a look out for critters.

Our home sweet home for the night at Webers motel.

These 50 inch wide bridges keep the marshes looking great and keep the quads on the trail.

Casto Canyon ATV trail

Labor Day at Casto Canyon. The trail Sharon and I did was a 36 miles loop. The elevation started at 6750 feet and climbed to 9210 feet and back down to the start. This was our fourth ATV trail and by far the best. Casto Canyon is in the Bryce Canyon area and the formations were awesome. There was so much beauty out there. The trail was easy to moderate in difficulty. It took about 4 hours to complete.

Some of the great views and they were non-stop. You had to be careful to keep your eyes on the trail and not fixate on the scenery.

HooDoo. I think this one throws rocks.

I always let Sharon lead. I like to eat the dust.

If you look closely you can see Sharon at the very bottom of the red formation.

Following Sharon on the trail surrounded by HooDoos.

At the top of Peterson Point. 360 deg. of beauty. 9210 ft. To the South was a very large thunder storm hanging over Strawberry, Brian Head ski resort, and Zions National Park. To the west was the town of Panquitch. To the North was Dixie National forest and the Richfield mountain range. The East was Casto Canyon and Bryce Canyon.

Idaho Trip to Island Park

Out on the Northern Idaho trail. The bummer of it all is all the trails were shut down by the green people. Out of 256 trails only 4 were open in the area. This area used to be really fun but now it is a drag.

On the trail we say this coyote. He didn't know if he was to stay or run. He stayed. It was cool to watch him. After he realized we were not going to hurt him, he went back trying to get a mouse that was under the downed tree.

After a 56 mile trail ride behind Sharon and her dust.

Since there were no good trails to ride on we went into the Yellowstone National Park. This big guy was walking down the road inches away from the car. He probably weighed more then our car.

Spending a little time at Old Faithful Inn. A building that was made 100 years ago in the middle of the winter, this place was awesome.

One last picture before we head home.

The Durango and the trailers all loaded up and ready to go.

Scarecrow Trail

Saturday the 18th of August Sharon and I went out on the Scarecrow Trail. The trail is a 25 mile loop that hugs the Utah / Nevada boarder. It was an easy trail. The trail started at an elevation of 3350 ft and climbed to 5630 ft. Check out her new ITP SS112 rims and Mudlite tires. Looks pretty good.

The trail went through a large Joshua tree forest. This part of the forest was burnt out by the 2005 /2006 fires.

This is the Joshua tree forest that did not get touched by the fire. The forest looked like it covered about 20 acres.

Taking a rest under the Joshua tree.

Inside the Joshua tree forest.

Sharon dropping 2 feet into a wash and climbing back out. Pretty good for her second trip on an ATV.

It's time for lunch.

25 miles, 3 hours and its time to head home.

Dallas Maintance Trip Day 2

After shopping at the Bass Pro shop, we found this winery in the old town of Grapevine Texas.

Met some people from Savannah Georgia taste testing the wine. Cheers!
